Here are some shows I saw this summer:
The Police @ Madison Square Garden 8/7. Supposedly their final show. Played a great percussion-driven version of 'Wrapped Around Your Finger'.
Kode9 @ The Winter Garden 7/1. Dubstep massive!
Ethiopian singer Alèmayèhu Eshèté with the Either/Orchestra @ Lincoln Center 8/20.
Ethiopian saxophonist Gétatchèw Mèkurya (w/ dancer) playing with Dutch punksters The Ex @ Lincoln Center 8/20.
Either/Orchestra with Mahmoud Ahmed @ Lincoln Center 8/20.
Noiserock revivalists A Place To Bury Strangers @ South Street Seaport 6/27.

60s-style garage shouter King Khan & The Shrines @ South Street Seaport 6/27.

Manuel Gottsching (w/ The Joshua Light Show) @ The 800 Years Of Minimalism concert, Lincoln Center 8/15.
Detroit's 70s soulfolk revelation: Rodriguez @ The Fader Party 9/4
Woops. Forgot to take my camera to the Yaz show..
And last but not least, Seun Kuti (Fela's son) & Egypt 80's incandescent Summerstage show 7/6. Pic by heartonastick:
'twas a time indeed.

Space Disco
Everyone needs a little 'Space'Not as new age as Jean Michel Jarre, poppier than Kraftwerk, a French rejoinder to Moroder, and pre-dating Air & Daft Punk by 20 odd years...Space!

Some sort of evil genius painstakingly photoshopped Garfield the cat out of Garfield the comic strip! Check it here. (Thx Jeff).
